Disappearing act

So sorry for the lack of updates! I've been really busy lately and I haven't been near a computer in the last few days, this is actually my first mobile update. The reason I haven't been updating is because I've been trying to get things together for the fashion show at my school. Nothing serious, but of course I always want pazazz. So I created a three piece mini collectiom (perhaps a fourth, who knows!). The theme is walking art, so I took my inspiration from a collection of futuristic artwork. Below is a sneak peak! :)

Gucci Fall 2011: Old Hollywood Glamor

Gucci does it again! I have to say, the Old Hollywood glamor-inspired looks were definitely a stand out collection to me. The models all looked to vintage and modern simultaneously. The sheers looks so absolutely chic. I loved the flash of leg which gave such a classy sex appeal. The color palette was striking without being boastful, like a subtle pow. The way each garment moved was absolutely stunning. Each model looked absolutely gorgeous. The patterns were not the focal point of the collection, yet very well placed. The teals were actually my favorite part of the color story. Beautiful accessories. Well done Gucci!

Below are some of my favorite pieces (very hard to choose!)

Mary Katrantzou Fall 2011: Pattern Struck

This collection was ONLY a patter mixer's dream. And FLORALS! I almost had a heart attack looking at this collection, I actually fell in love. Mary Katrantzou brought some beautiful, soft textiles, mixed with structural silhouettes. The entire collection was like a dreamlike state. The colors blended so smoothly it was almost like they were the same pattern. Beautifully done! I am in love!

Lady Crush: Jacquelyn Jablonski

This fabulous beauty graced the catwalk for many shows during NYFW. I have to say Jacquelyn Jablonski is becoming one of my new favorite models. She has one of the most beautiful pair of eyes I have ever seen. And she definitely rocks the thick eyebrows as her signature. She takes amazing photos, some of which I have shared with you. I only which I could see her more often! What do you think of her? Is she one of your favorites or is she a pass for you?

Who did it best?: Mixing Prints

So many designers in New York F/WFW were very ambitious to implement mixed patterns into their collections. Designers executed this in many different ways. From bolds on bolds, subtle on bolds, these collections took the concept of mixing prints and made it their own. Below I'm gonna show you some different designers and you can decide who did it best!

Proenza Schouler

Diane von Furstenberg

Rag & Bone

Rodarte

Suno

Thakoon

Oscar de la Renta

LONDON FASHION WEEK BEGINS!: Sass & Bide Fall 2011

So New York FW comes to an end as London's begins! So far, the Sass and Bide fall collection has really jumped out to me. These colors are a GREAT pop for the fall. Color blocking! The styling for these collection was phenomenal. The head pieces were so interesting and I love the asymmetrical top. The necklaces, belts, and oh the shoes The silhouettes were very flowy and felt light. And again, you guys know how I feel about mixing patterns! Excellently done! Great collection to start off another fashion week. Once again, easily won over by bright colors!

Below are a few of my favorite pieces.
